On October 23, I celebrated my PhD graduation in Psychology from the University of Cambridge, as a member of St John’s College.

I dedicated my thesis to the friends I made along the way:

I am no stranger to loneliness. At sixteen, I moved alone across the coast. At twenty-six, across the country. And at twenty-eight, across the world.

Here in Cambridge, I found joy, love and belonging, and I have never felt less alone. These social connections are my proudest accomplishment and the greatest gift from my PhD.

I will cherish these times, memories and friendships forever.

A special thank you to my supervisor, Professor Sarah-Jayne Blakemore, for always believing in me, and to everyone who made this weekend so special 🤍
